My producer @deonoxivar said, “this is a crazy song choice!” yes I did purposely, who would have thought that this song will be featured in ‘very contemporary’ album The Voices vol.2? ha! And it seems pretty good I managed to sang it in my own way. Proven, positive response for this song more than my other one hehe. Although there are those who give me input if I still sang it too flat so it feels less able to be felt by them. :)

My voice is too low here, I actually could be higher, all of that is because this is my first debut, so I’ma bit confused what should I do in this song hehe. indeed sounds so amateur eventhough singing isn’t something new for me. practically, every moment in my life I always interspersed with singing. teehee.

1. Hero - THE VOICES
Hands down for the smooth mixing and harmonization. The ad-libs from 6 of you  really work together.

2. With You - Ronald Misael
I enjoyed the groove you brought, but it feels like you’re holding back a lil bit towards the end.

3. Drowning - Revol Tamba
You know I love your voice, but I don’t think this song really worked for you. But, man, you delivered the message really well. I can feel your feeling. Anyway, thank you for letting me know this song. Very familiar with me but never recognized it before.

4. Maybe - Misty
Wow, you’ve got such a pure bold, light voice. That’s a kind of voice that makes us wanna sing-along to. You sing this song effortlessly and beautifully. I’d love to hear more of you.

5. Teenage Dream - Philip Takato
Yay! I appreciate you for always bringing the most contemporary sound in the bunch. But, it’d be better I think if you try to just let it go, and the low notes could’ve been better.

6. Cinta Satu Malam - Danie Cung
Wait, did I just listen to a @HarmoniSCTV performance? LOL. Absolutely great rendition of this phenomenal song. Probably the best rework of this song I’ve heard.

7. Fly Me To The Moon - YB
Still stunned with your voice everytime I listen to it. And, of course, you did kill this type of song. And - if you’re somewhere read this - please do Frank Sinatra’s “All The Way” for me.

8. That’s The Way It Is - Nizar Wijaya
I give you point for choosing a diva song! LOL. I like the way you do this, like “OK, I just wanna do this, let me rock it!”, haha. My advice is find an instrumental without backing vocals, cause it’s a bit disctracting, or do it yourself.

9. Rolling In The Deep - Deon Oxivar
Yay for the song choice!!! You have improved your belting, haven’t you? Stronger than before. But on the other side, it feels like your signature falsettos don’t sound as strong as usual. But overall, still a good job. And you always left me begging for more, haha.

10. Thank You For Loving Me - Ronald Misael
That’s how you do it! I think it’s the best I’ve heard you sing :-) I can truly feel your passion as you’re singing it for your beloved girlfriend.

11. Change The World - Revol Tamba
This one suits your voice better than the other one. And I can hear you pushed your voice more.

12. Close - Jever
I like the “stripped down” and simple production of this song. I can get your feel and the meaning of this song. But I’d like to hear some more dynamics, cause you can do it. And the vocals could’ve been stronger in some parts.

13. Raise Your Glass - Philip Takato
Another #1 song! you sound more playful here. This song isn’t as easy as it seems. It would help if your vocals were more consistent.

14. Soul Of Fireflies - Danie Cung
Wow, never knew the mash-up of these songs existed. Nice effects to emulate the original “Fireflies”.

15. The Day You Went Away - YB
It’s really interesting when you put twist into bubblegum-pop songs like this one with your voice.

16. Mamma Mia - Nizar Wijaya
Your voice sounds more controlled here, but somehow a bit less exciting to get the groove of the song.

17. I Believe I Can Fly - Deon Oxivar
I like that you do many improvisations here, and you hit those belting notes really well. But, I’m a bit confused about where are you going with those improvisations, you know.

I will write the review track by track if you don’t mind :D

1. Hero (The Voices):
Udah denger lagu ini sebelumnya pas di release di YouTube, and my opinion still the same, great song and great collaboration!

2. With You (Ronald Misael):
Pembuka yang baik untuk album ini, karena lagunya enak di denger, liriknya cukup catchy, dan soal vokalnya, I must say this the first time I heard Ronald’s voice and it is very very good!

3. Drowning (Revol Tamba):
Belom pernah denger versi full dari lagu Backstreet Boys ini sebelumnya, tapi bisa dibilang kalau suara dari Revol pas untuk lagu ini, meskipun I was kinda hoping that you would do a slight different voice for each verse :D

4. Maybe (Misty):
Again, I never heard about this song before (forgive my limited knowledge in music!) but I can say that I enjoy hearing this song!

5. Teenage Dream (Philip Takato):
Pilihan yang cukup berani dan bisa dibilang cukup beresiko dalam meng-cover sebuah lagu. Dalam beberapa bagian, I can say that you nailed it, good job. Kalaupun ada kekurangan, I kind of expect you to sing it more cheerfully, but it’s cheerful enough for me :)

6. Cinta Satu Malam (Danie Cung):
Pertamanya agak kaget juga ngelihat lagu ini di list, dan yang kebayang pertama kali adalah ini lagu dangdut dan penasaran juga gimana lagu ini di cover. Tapi setelah didengarkan, it sounds like a whole different song, aura dangdutnya gak terlalu ada, malah terdengar sedikit sexy. Like it!

7. Fly Me To The Moon (YB):
I only know some of Frank Sinatra’s song, and this is one of them. I must say that at first I thought I was listening to the original song instead of the cover. Vokalnya pas banget untuk lagu ini, good job!

8. That’s The Way It Is (Nizar Wijaya):
Satu lagi pilihan lagu yang cukup berani di album ini. Di appresiasi untuk mencoba nyanyiin lagu ini, meskipun kalau mau dibilang suaranya agak kerendahan di lagu ini, tapi still a good try :)

9. Rolling In The Deep (Deon Oxivar):
Time to do the review for my dear friend, ehehe. I should say that the beginning is a bit shaky, which is a bit surprising since I know your voice well. Tapi itu ketutup pas masuk ke bagian tengah meskipun menjelang akhir lagu, I don’t really get the feeling that this is your kind of song karena a bit off pas bagian ini. Not really your type of song, but still enjoy it nevertheless :D

10. Thank You For Loving Me (Ronald Misael):
My personal favorite from the whole album. You nailed this song perfectly and I really really enjoy your voice! Meskipun di bagian “Yeah yeah yeah yeah…” bisa lebih keras lagi in my opinion, but still… this song is the best!

11. Change The World (Revol Tamba):
Never heard about this Westlife’s song before, so thank you for introducing me to this song. It is a good song, dan karena belom pernah denger lagu aslinya, cuma bisa bilang kalo good job for this song. A bit soft for me, but perhaps that’s how this song should be ;)

12. Close (Jever):
Pertama-tama harus dibilang, mungkin ini ada sedikit masalah pas download albumnya, tapi di lagu ini, suara vokalnya gak terlalu kedengeran, agak ketutup sama suara gitarnya, jadi harus otak-atik volume sedikit untuk dengerin lagunya. Jadi mungkin review nya gak merefleksikan lagu aslinya, karena kalau didenger sekilas seperti ada beberapa bagian yang off, tapi sekali lagi gak tau ini apakah memang benar seperti itu suaranya atau apa itu suara gitar atau suara background yang masuk ke dalam lagunya. Maaf banget reviewnya mungkin gak bagus, tapi kalau dapat versi yang lebih clear dari lagu ini akan dengan senang hati di review lagi :)

13. Raise Your Glass (Philip Takato):
Usaha yang cukup bagus untuk nge-cover lagu ini. Cukup familiar sama lagu Pink yang ini, dan waktu ngederin ada beberapa bagian yang agak kedodoran, tapi di beberapa bagian lain juga cukup bagus, jadi cukup seimbang untuk lagu ini. Nice try!

14. Soul of Fireflies (Daniel Cung):
Pertama denger intronya, ngiranya kalo ini lagunya Train yang Hey, Soul Sister dan ada kesalahan di penulisan judulnya, tapi ternyata ini mashup antara Train dan Owl City, ehehe. I must say I really enjoy this song because I never heard the mashup version before and it is quite funny, and I like how you sing the “hey hey hey” part.

15. The Day You Went Away (YB):
I personally love this M2M’s song, so kind of excited when I saw this song in the list. Secara overall nice try in singing it, meskipun lagu ini cukup terpatri di ingatan sebagian lagu yang cukup girly, jadi kerasa agak off ketika denger dinyanyiin dengan manly. Not bad, but I would prefer the girly version for this song. Appreciate the try though!

16. Mamma Mia (Nizar Wijaya):
One song that I grew up with since my parents are a big fan of ABBA. Cukup semangat untuk ngedengerin gimana lagu ini dinyanyiin, dan meskipun cukup beda dengan versi originalnya tapi tetep bagus secara keseluruhan. Ada beberapa bagian dimana lagunya bisa dinyanyiin lebih tinggi dan juga lebih semangat, but then again overall it is a decent one.

17. I Believe I Can Fly (Deon Oxivar):
We meet again my friend :D We both know this song too well I supposed, and I expect some big things for this song. Dan ternyata memang gak dikecewain. Keseluruhan bagus banget dan enak untuk di denger, especially love the last part! You are suitable for this kind of song, I must say :D

18. Hero (Live) (The Voices):
A live version eh? Lagunya sendiri, seperti dibilang pada review awal udah bagus dan itu gak berubah untuk yang ini, dan tambahan background suara crowd itu cukup bikin merinding. Wish all the best for you guys dan semoga aja suatu hari bisa nyanyiin lagu ini di depan 10 ribu orang! :)

With You - @Ronaldmisael. The groove is there and I love the vocal runs! Though I wanted you to “unleash the beast” a bit more.
TYFLM - @Ronaldmisael. Be careful on pronouncing “Th” - it’s not like “too”. Vocally you nailed it. You’re in it to WIN IT!

REVOL:
Drowning - @revoltamba. Love how you built the emotion through the song. You started it off calm and striked hard at the end.
Change The World - @revoltamba. This is my favorite B-side song from Westlife. You did it justice. Your tone is God’s gift!

MISTY:
Maybe - @RealMistylady. BEAUTIFUL. This is something I would play 1000 times. No joke.  RT if you wanna hear more of Misty!

PHILIP:
Teenage Dream - @takatophilip. Brave song choice, and I can feel the energy. Be careful on the lower register though.
Raise Your Glass - @takatophilip. I wouldn’t pick this song, but LOVE that you showed off more range with the falsetto. Nice Eb5

CUNG:
Cinta Satu Malam - @cung2. I was like “…the hell?” when you handed me this song. But this is crazy. 5 stars!
Soul Of Fireflies - @cung2. This is crazy good! I’d love to take some lessons from you on doing effects.

YB:
Fly Me To The Moon - YB. Perfect song for your bass voice. Enjoyed it so much. Loved the “talking” part.
The Day You Went Away - YB. You got a distinctive voice but this song failed to do your voice justice. Song choice, dude!

NIZAR:
That’s The Way It Is - @NizarWijaya. I can feel  the excitement! But I wouldn’t do it 1 octave lower than Celine on her key.
MammaMia - @NizarWijaya. Crazy song choice, but this track does bring more diversity to the album, and I’m all for it!

JEVER:
Close - @jver. Judging from hearing this track, you should’ve made it to the Top 12 of Indonesian Idol 5. Yummy voice!!!
